Avocado Honey

0 out of 5

Avocado honey is a result of bees feeding on the nectar of avocado tree blossoms, harvested in the middle of avocado groves, on the tropical coast of Velez, Malaga, Spain. We source this creamy honey from our ecological and sustainable Spanish beekeeper, Antonio.

Avocado honey is very dark and rare gourmet honey that has a creamy, and smooth-molasses-like flavour from the nectar of the tree that also produces one of our most popular fruits. This honey has a robust and buttery flavour and texture, somewhat similar to molasses or cane syrup without the bitterness.

Avocado honey has high mineral content which may help prevent anaemia. It’s also a superior choice of ingredient for facemask for regular skincare routine. It has a very high sucrose content and very little fructose. The avocado varietal does not crystallise quickly.

This molasses-tasting honey is an excellent spread that pairs well with hearty freshly-baked bread, it’s great to use in baking, and it contributes depth when mixed into to salad dressings, marinades and meat glazes, and thick sauces.

Please Note:
Because our honey is 100% raw it can crystallise over time. This is normal and it does not mean that the honey has gone off. Simply place the jar of honey in a glass bowl, quarter fill a pan or a pot with boiling water then place the bowl into it. The steam should heat the bowl, which heats the jar without overheating it (you do not want the benefits of the honey to be eliminated by the heat). Keep the water boiling by turning up the heat on the stove. The honey should be in liquid form again in 15 minutes or so (depending on the size).

  • Do not feed raw honey to infants and young children under 12 months of age due to the chance of botulism poisoning. This is not a danger for older children or adults.
  • Using large amounts of honey might increase blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
  • Avoid honey if you are allergic to pollen. Honey, which is made from pollen, may cause allergic reactions.
